A silence fell over the ballroom as the TV monitors showed a video of a Kym Johnson's horrible fall during rehearsals last week that threatened to knock her out of Dancing with the Stars – or worse. In the gut-wrenching footage, Johnson was rehearsing with Hines Ward when she landed on her head and Ward fell on top of her. As she lay in a ball on the floor, she cried, "I can't feel my arms." Johnson was rushed to the hospital and, after tests, doctors released her to compete again, though she practiced with a neck brace. Monday night, she and her Pittsburgh Steeler partner danced the tango. Read on for more details. When they finished their final steps, the ballroom erupted into cheers and judge Carrie Ann Inaba was in tears. Johnson and Ward didn't just make a brave return to competition – they pulled off a flawless performance. Their smoldering tango earned a trio of 10s – their first perfect score of the season – but not their last. "It was like something from the Kama Sutra," said judge Len Goodman. "That is a tango!" "It was like good sex," said Bruno Tonioli. "You never want it to end." "The connection was just beyond what we ask for in a dance routine," said Inaba. "This is someone really taking care of a partner." On a grueling night in which the four remaining couples performed three dances, including a final-round winter-takes-all cha cha, Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas finished first with a total of 73 points. Ward and Johnson were next with 60 – they got a perfect 30 on their second dance, too. They were followed by Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy with 54, and Ralph Macchio (also working through an injury) and Karina Smirnoff with 48. But it was Johnson and Ward who left the most indelible impression. "Praise to God she's still walking," said Ward. "She's a warrior. I love her. " Added Johnson: "It could have been really bad. I feel so blessed and lucky to be okay." Share this article with your friends var addthis_config = {"data_track_clickback":true};

The three-hour combo, starting at 8/7c, posted a 3.8 rating among 18-to-49-year-olds, helping CBS easily win the night. The season-ender declined compared with the previous season's finale in December (13.6 million, and 4.1 demo rating). But while the show's audience has dwindled in recent years, the TV staple still manages to finish in the top 15, if not the top 10. It consistently attracted more than 10 million people for its usual Wednesday airing this season. The two-hour Season 7 finale of Desperate Housewives, starting at 9/8c, averaged 9.99 million viewers and a 3.0 rating in the advertiser-coveted demo. At the same time, Celebrity Apprentice averaged 6.57 million and a 2.4 rating. Against Survivor's first hour at 8/7c, ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition finished second with 8.54 million, followed by The Simpsons (6 million) and Bob's Burgers (4.66 million) on Fox, and Minute to Win It (3.47 million) on NBC. In the next hour, Fox's animated block continued to score solidly, with Family Guy (6.55 million viewers) and The Cleveland Show (4.93 million). At 7/6c, 60 Minutes' audience inevitably dropped from a week earlier when it landed an exclusive interview with President Barack Obama about Osama bin Laden's demise. But as usual, it finished first in its time slot, pulling in 12.03 million, compared with 13.79 million last week. "The main goal was to win the show and I did that," Mariano told reporters on a conference call Monday. "I'm happy to leave with the way I played and to go out at this point." Throughout this season of Survivor: Redemption Island, Mariano's game play was equally praised and criticized for what many called his "cult-like" control over the rest of his Ometepe alliance. Despite — or because of his firm grasp — Mariano won both the grand prize and the title of "Sprint Player of the Season." Despite the lack of drama in that Rob controlled most of the season, I think the mystique of Redemption Island surprisingly kept things afloat (after seeing the jury, yes, it was pretty much a Pagonging). With that said, I don't know how everyone feels about Redemption Island coming back yet again. This is kind of how Exile Island snowballed out of control, shortly following it, the hidden immunity idol. Share this article with your friends var addthis_config = {"data_track_clickback":true};

Guests at the wedding included actress Katherine Heigl and musician husband Josh Kelley, Shelton’s Voice advisor Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson, Dierks Bentley and Laura Bell Bundy. Shelton proposed last May near Lambert’s Oklahoma home. Around midseason, Hargitay’s Olivia Benson will pass the baton on to a new female detective — possibly played by Jennifer Love Hewitt. Meanwhile, SVU‘s leading man Christopher Meloni still has no deal for next season. Going into the contract negotiations, Hargitay had asked to scale back her workload on the show. The producers granted her request, reducing her hours but keeping her salary roughly the same at $385,000 an episode. For the first 13 episodes, Hargitay’s character will continue to solve sex crimes alongside Elliot Stabler, pending Meloni closing his deal. Then Benson will be promoted to a supervisor position, with a new female detective taking her place. That is the role that producers are eying for Hewitt, who, ironically, guest-starred on SVU last fall as a rape victim. As for Meloni, whose current salary is the same as Hargitay’s, I hear the actor is seeking a raise. Talks with NBC, however, are moving slowly, so it doesn’t look like he will have a deal before NBC’s upfront. The last time Hargitay and Meloni’s contracts were up two years ago they didn’t sign new pacts until the end of June. Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels, was dealt a blow Tuesday in his lawsuit against USA Network over its Royal Pains series. According to the New York Post, a judge tossed out the suit brought forth by Christensen and his brother, Tove, along with Forest Park Pictures. In the suit, filed in December, the brothers alleged that they brought the idea for a concierge doctor show titled Housecall to USA and met with Alex Pepiol, who at the time was manager of original scripted series programming at the network. They say they also sent him materials including a treatment, character biographies and show ideas. They claimed that Royal Pains misappropriated characters, concept and story lines from the Housecall treatment. On Tuesday, Manhattan federal judge Colleen McMahon said in court that the breach-of-contract claims were overruled by federal law "concerning materials that are not copyrightable, such as ideas." Said the Christensens' lawyer, David Marek: "We are disappointed with the ruling and hope to have it reversed on appeal." But Bones (3.3, 10.9 million) won the 9 p.m. period, beating ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (3.1, 9.3 million), which was down 11 percent for a series low. Also hitting a nadir on Thursday night was CBS’ CSI finale (2.6, 11.4 million). Although the show was up double digits compared with its previous original, it was nonetheless CSI’s lowest-rated finale ever. Meanwhile, NBC’s Community finale (1.4, 3.2 million) and a new episode of The Office (3.2, 6.2 million) dropped 7 percent and 9 percent, respectively, to tie series lows. CBS was second for the night, averaging a 2.7 rating and 11.4 million viewers, followed by ABC (2.4, 7.3 million), NBC (1.9, 3.8 million) and Univision (1.5, 3.6 million). Lees verder... 13 May 2011It wasn't supposed to happen this way: James Durbin, standing on the American Idol stage, in tears because he was being sent home. Before tonight, if you asked anyone on the production staff who they thought would win the whole thing, the answer would almost invariably be James. And if you asked any of the press who cover the show in person, or studio audience members, week after week, who they thought would be in the finals, James would always be one of the two names. "I can't believe this is happening," said one woman, watching Durbin struggling to sing his swan song, Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed." When the cameras stopped rolling, the audience members remained on their feet in a strange, mournful, motionless silence, watching and not moving for 10 minutes as the judges, Ryan Seacrest and fellow contestants hugged Durbin. It wasn't like any other goodbye this season. Randy Jackson in particular looked very upset, talking to executive producer Nigel Lythgoe. Jennifer Lopez was in tears. Steven Tyler grabbed Durbin in a bear hug and wouldn't let go. The staff physician was also on stage, never more than five feet away from Durbin as he said his goodbyes. "Encore! Encore!" The audience started chanting for Durbin to sing again — a first this season. It didn't happen. It was as if nobody could grasp that for this 22-year-old, blazingly talented rocker, it was really over. People in the audience were shaking their heads. The name Daughtry was overheard, over and over, referring to the Season 5 star who also only made it to fourth place. Scotty McCreery looked stunned. Durbin's fiancé, Heidi, finally made it on stage. He kept telling her he was alright, as he hugged her. Said Idol stylist Miles Siggins, "In the last couple of weeks, he's really been missing his family." Said associate musical director, Michael Orland, "That boy is so smart, so fast, so loving, so appreciative of all the help he gets. He's just a really warm kid."
